Life Drawing 16

We experimented with two contrasting colours to blend well together when drawing our model.
Each of the coloured drawings were done in pen. I soon enough got the hang of "fusing" the two colours together better rather than using one as an outline and the other for shading. What I understood here was how tone can fill up certain spaces of the body, and also define shape.

We did some further experiments. The two below has been drawn without leaving the paper (top), and with my left hand (bottom). I found the bottom one to be quite difficult, but also an interesting end result.

Here the top was done without looking at my drawing, as the bottom was done by remembering how the model appeared for several seconds, before we had to remember it. I think I got the bottom half slightly wrong, but I found the top to be incredibly fun (and funny).

Here are several other quick drawings I've done, as per usual to the start of each life drawing lesson. I particularly like the bottom left one.

Life Drawing 15

As part of this life drawing lesson, I had to draw with 3 point perspective, visualizing the model within a frame.

Along with several other short sketches. I found it quite difficult, but eventually understood the distance from viewing the model, and how they should appear on angles.

Steampunk Concept

As a two week assignment, I was set to create a Steampunk inspired character/object/etc. I went through a few designs inspired from my moodboard to a finalized digital design. The feedback given to me was very helpful, as I could understand how difficult my final design would have shaped, and would need to appear more relative to the Steampunk design had I used more designs making them appear less human.

Below are the initial sketches I had designed before I had done my final piece, thinking about more steampunk themed clothing and how certain mechanics work on the body.

Below is my final outcome. I see a few drawbacks include how this would actually function if she were to move, it may create some complications.

Life Drawing 14

In this lesson, I did some foreshortening as well as the additional sketches and close ups of hands and feet. I found this lesson quite enjoyable to sketch out, with a few mistakes I feel I understood this.

Animated Sprites

Here are some gif/animation examples I worked with in my Visual Design lesson using Photoshop to add the red eyes and weapon in the girls hand. Using layer by layer animation, I manipulated and rearranged how the final gif image would appear.

Light and Shade

Here's an example of shading/lighting done in Photoshop. The lineart belongs to Jordu Schell. Using a mixture of tones between black and white, I was able to convey a 3D form of the character.

Muscles

A two weeks homework involved the study of the muscles in the human body. All were done in my sketch book. I firstly did a few muscles alone to get a better understanding, before doing a full front a back.

Below is my labelled muscles.

Life Drawing 13

During this session, we focused more on lighting, as well as trying some close up drawings and models with clothing.
